Formed in 2006 by bandleader Paul D’Alessio after an inspiring visit to Cuba, Primo Cubano recreates the authentic feel and flavor of Cuba’s national music…the SON. Primo Cubano plays traditional Cuban dance music dating back to the turn of the 20th Century. Son is the most popular style to come out of Cuba and is the primary contributor to the blend of Latin styles today known as Salsa. It was first a music of the country people and eventually migrated to Havana, where it was urbanized and began to draw a wider audience. The 5 members of Primo Cubano always transport us to a steamy dance floor somewhere south of here. Tickets $10 in advance or $12 on the day of the show. Doors open at 7:30, music at 8 pm.
